SUMMARY:Creative Painting Sessions For Children
DESCRIPTION:Children of all ages are invited to attend one of two creative painting sessions led by a local artist\, which are taking place at Goole Museum during the school half-term holiday.\nDrawing inspiration directly from Goole Museum’s weird and wonderful objects and artefacts\, the sessions are an opportunity for budding young artists to sharpen their drawing skills\, learn about colour and create their own still life masterpieces to be exhibited in the gallery.\nIf they wish to\, children who take part in these sessions will be able to submit their artwork into Goole Museum’s 2026 Open Art competition. If their artwork is selected by the judges\, it will be displayed in this year’s special Bicentenary Open Art Exhibition.\nNo experience is required as participants will be led through every stage of the process\, and everyone is welcome.\nThe first session\, from 10am to 12 noon\, is for children under 11 years of age.\nThe second session\, from 1pm to 3pm\, is for children aged 11 years and above.\nTo book your child’s place\, please email goole.museum@eastriding.gov.uk or telephone 01405 768963.

DESCRIPTION:*Both performances of this event are now SOLD OUT! \nCelebrate 200 years of heritage and history\, with this showcase of Goole on film. \nGoole Civic Society is showing historic films of Goole at Junction Goole as its launch event for the town’s bicentenary celebrations. \nSourced from several collections\, including the Yorkshire Film Archive and Pathe News collection\, the event will showcase a series of films featuring Goole from the 1920s through to the 1980s. \nIt will also include the premiere of two specially-commissioned projects for Goole’s bicentenary year: \n\n A recording of Advance! Goole\, the town’s centenary song\, performed by The Warblers.\nAn Aerial History of the Knottingley & Goole Canal.\n\nThere will be two showings of the films – the first at 2.30pm and another at 6.30pm. SUMMARY:Coat Of Arms Community Art Session
DESCRIPTION:Local artist Janet Porter is leading two community art sessions at Goole Museum to create a large wall hanging inspired by Goole’s coat of arms. \nThe FREE sessions will take place on Wednesday 21 and Friday 23 January\, from 1pm to 3pm\, and everyone is welcome to go along and take part. \nJanet Porter\, of Bungalow Arts in Victoria Street\, Goole\, said: “The Goole coat of arms with the Vikings is stunning and I think it will be exciting to involve the community in turning it into a colourful collage using paint and fabric.” \nIf more time is needed\, the project will continue the following Wednesday and Friday afternoons at the same times. Anyone who would like to take part is asked to register their interest by emailing janetporter789@gmail.com or texting 07939 032224. \nThis project is one of many that the Goole 2026 Bicentenary Community Group is co-ordinating during 2026.
