Interactive Workshop: Summer Heat Wave of ’76
May 7 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
FREE

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the 1976 summer heat wave. Although it’s usually remembered as a golden summer, the hot, dry weather also led to a water crisis.
Goole Museum is inviting local people to take part in a free, interactive workshop, where they will be able to delve into the 1976 heat wave and drought through newspaper articles and other archival material.
Participants will also use creative methods, including collage-making, to explore what drought means for us as a community and how we can learn from the past to prepare for the future. This workshop is being staged in collaboration with the University of Hull.
