2026 is Goole’s bicentenary year
or, in other words, its 200th birthday!
To mark this significant milestone, a busy programme of events and activities has been planned by a wide variety of local organisations and community groups to celebrate the history, heritage and achievements of our town. Although there will be events and activities taking place throughout the year, a busy weekend of celebration is planned for mid-July to coincide with the date that the town was established.
During 2026, the local community and visitors to the town will be able to enjoy everything from an internationally renowned art installation, exhibitions and film screenings to festivals, a lantern parade and community picnics. Developed as part of the Goole 200 project, this website brings together everything you need to know about the events, activities and celebrations taking place in our town during 2026.
