Bicentenary Artist In Residence

July 1 - July 31
FREE
As part of Goole’s bicentenary celebrations, artist Susan Beaulah will be the town’s artist in residence for the entire month of July.
Susan will be based at Goole Museum but will paint in various locations around the town, searching for places that inspire her and setting up her easel in front of the subject to absorb the atmosphere. On selected dates, local people will be invited to paint with Susan; more information about this will be shared in due course.
Dr Alex Ombler, Curator of Goole Museum, said: “Susan is a great artist and her experience in painting urban-industrial landscapes makes her a perfect fit for Goole. If you see Susan out and about painting in the town, feel free to stop and chat with her. She’s keen to share her commitment to painting our unique and visually exciting port town with others.”
  • Susan is a landscape painter, who paints outdoors from direct observation. Her work revolves around two main locations, the flat agricultural landscapes of East Yorkshire and rural life in India. For more than 20 years, Susan documented the Kerala Chakara, a unique fishing phenomenon on the coast of Kerala, South India. Her studio is in Barton upon Humber at The Ropewalk.
