Freedom Festival On Tour

Experience an extraordinary day of free outdoor street theatre performances, as Freedom Festival on Tour comes to West Park, Goole.
Artists from Finland, Spain, Mozambique and the Netherlands will transform our town with breathtaking circus, playful family adventures, larger-than-life walkabout performances and unforgettable outdoor spectacles that have toured internationally before arriving in Goole.
Whether you’re discovering street theatre for the first time or you’re already a Freedom Festival fan, this is your chance to experience world-class performance right here on your doorstep. It’s completely free, family-friendly and a chance to spend the day exploring performances that surprise, inspire and bring people together.
As one of only a handful of locations selected to host Freedom Festival on Tour, Junction Goole is proud to continue its partnership with one of the UK’s leading international arts festivals, bringing exceptional artists and extraordinary experiences to the heart of our community.
From giant globes and gravity-defying circus to miniature worlds and contemporary dance, every performance offers something different. Wander through the festival, stay for one show or spend the whole day discovering something unexpected.
The full programme will run twice during the day; once between 11am and 1.30pm and again between 1.30pm and 4pm. You’re welcome to drop in whenever suits you but, to experience every performance, it’s recommended that you allow the full two-and-a-half hours.
In Goole’s 200th year, Freedom Festival On Tour has been made possible with the funding support of Arts Council England, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, the Do It For East Yorkshire Fund and Goole Town Council. These performances are brought to Goole as part of Freedom Festival On Tour, an exciting regional extension of Hull’s iconic Freedom Festival. For 19 years, the festival has been one of the UK’s most-loved arts events, attracting over 60,000 visitors, and now Goole gets its chance to experience these world-class outdoor shows.
Freedom Festival on Tour forms part of Goole 200, a year-long celebration of our town’s bicentenary. Just as Goole grew through welcoming people and ideas from across the world, this international festival brings artists from across Europe to inspire, surprise and connect communities through shared cultural experiences.
