Celebrate 200 years of heritage and history, with this showcase of Goole on film.

Goole Civic Society is showing historic films of Goole at Junction Goole as its launch event for the town’s bicentenary celebrations.

Sourced from several collections, including the Yorkshire Film Archive and Pathe News collection, the event will showcase a series of films featuring Goole from the 1920s through to the 1980s.

It will also include the premiere of two specially-commissioned projects for Goole’s bicentenary year:

  •  A recording of Advance! Goole, the town’s centenary song, performed by The Warblers.
  • An Aerial History of the Knottingley & Goole Canal.

There will be two showings of the films – the first at 2.30pm and another at 6.30pm. Click on the link provided to purchase tickets from Junction Goole.
