Gala Day at Goole Central Church

To coincide with Goole’s 200th birthday weekend, Goole Central Church and Dream Heritage are hosting a Gala Day at Goole Central Church on North Street.

The day will begin with a 2026-themed service between 10am and 12 noon, which will be followed by the main Gala Day activities. Refreshments will be available and entries for a wide range of gala-style competitions will be on display. Members of the local community are encouraged to submit entries.

Classes will include:

• Great British Bake-Off Competition: Make a cake inspired by Goole; think about the history of Goole, your own memories and local landmarks.
• Nature-Inspired Art Competition: Make a piece of art using natural materials.
• Recycling Challenge: Make a sculpture using recycled materials.
• Up-Cycling Challenge: Wear/create an outfit/costume made from up-cycled materials or clothing.
• Floral Display: Bring along your best floral arrangement/display.
•  Most Impressive Vegetable Competition: Bring along your most impressive vegetables for display.

There will be classes for different age groups to enter and further information, including entry forms and drop-off times, will be available on Dream Heritage’s event page nearer the time.

Donations raised by this event will be shared between the Church and local charity Dream Heritage.
