The Goole Bicentenary Collection: An exhibition of artwork by Peter Scott

July 27 @ 12:00 pm - August 1 @ 2:00 pm
FREE

Hosted by Goole Civic Society, this exhibition showcases the Goole Bicentenary Collection of artwork prepared especially for Goole’s 200th anniversary by local artist Peter Scott.

The artwork was commissioned by Goole Civic Society for publication in a children’s history book, which has been gifted to local primary school children for the town’s bicentenary, and depicts selected scenes from Goole’s history. Based upon archival resources, the original collection of paintings that Peter has created will be on display at Junction Goole in this one-off, must-see exhibition.

Peter Scott can trace his Goole ancestry back to the building of the port in 1826. He has illustrated more than 50 books, including several about history and two about boats, and his work can be found on bookshelves around the world.

Goole Civic Society, which has organised this event on behalf of the Goole 2026 Bicentenary Group, would like to thank RWE Goole Fields Wind Farms Community Fund for its support.

  • Please note that this exhibition is open from 12 noon to 2pm on Monday, 27 July, and from 10am to 2pm daily from Tuesday 28 July to Saturday 1 August.
